Meet Shama Mohammed - .Net Developer

Please tell us about your journey with ai and what made you choose this area of work?   

My journey with The ai Corporation has been centred around building and delivering high-quality technical solutions. As a Developer, I focus on designing, developing, and maintaining applications that create value for our clients and support business needs.  I chose this area of work because I enjoy problem-solving and translating complex requirements into practical, efficient solutions. Development allows me to think analytically, be creative in my approach, and continuously enhance my skills. The opportunity to work on impactful projects keeps me motivated and engaged.  

How has your role changed over the years at ai? 

Over time, my role as a Developer has grown in both responsibility and scope. I have moved from primarily focusing on completing development tasks to taking greater ownership of features and contributing to design discussions and technical decisions.  I am very grateful to my managers throughout my journey for their continuous support, guidance, and encouragement. Their trust and mentorship have played an important role in my professional growth.  

What does a typical day look like for you?   

A typical day starts with reviewing priorities and aligning with the team during stand-up meetings. From there, I focus on development tasks, including implementing new features, enhancing existing functionality, and resolving issues.  My day usually involves collaborating with team members to clarify requirements, discussing technical approaches, and ensuring solutions align with overall project goals. I also spend time reviewing code, testing changes, and making sure everything meets quality standards before deployment.  

No two days are exactly the same, which keeps the role engaging. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, improve, and contribute to delivering reliable and effective solutions.  

What is your team like?           

My team is collaborative and focused on delivering high-quality solutions. We share knowledge, support each other, and work together to solve complex problems. The diversity of skills and perspectives within the team helps us continuously improve our approach and deliver better results.  

How do you ensure your training and knowledge stay up to date?     

I prioritise continuous learning by regularly exploring new technologies, tools, and best practices relevant to my role. I stay up to date through technical articles, online courses, and industry resources to ensure my skills remain current.  I also learn a great deal through hands-on experience, working on new features, solving complex challenges, and collaborating with team members. Knowledge sharing within the team, such as discussions and code reviews, is another valuable way I continue to grow.  

What is the best part of your job?    

The best part of my job is being able to solve challenging problems and turn ideas into practical, effective solutions. I enjoy the creativity and critical thinking involved in designing and developing applications that make a real difference.  I also value the collaboration with my team, sharing knowledge, discussing approaches, and learning from each other makes the work both engaging and rewarding. Seeing the impact of our work, whether in improved processes or client satisfaction, is extremely fulfilling and motivates me to keep growing and innovating.  

What is your proudest moment at ai so far?  

One of my proudest moments was contributing to a project that delivered a complex feature that improved efficiency and added significant value for our users. Being part of the solution from planning to implementation- and seeing it work seamlessly in production- was extremely rewarding. Working closely with my team and overcoming challenges together made this achievement even more meaningful.

What do you enjoy most about working for ai?  

I enjoy working on challenging and meaningful projects that allow me to continually learn and grow. The opportunity to contribute to solutions that have a real impact for clients, and the business makes the work rewarding. Being part of a company that encourages innovation and development is what I find most fulfilling.
