One charity that is very close to our heart here at ai is The Children’s Trust, we’ve supported their main event for a few years now and this year was no different. We were honoured to attend the magnificent Circus. Take a look at the press release below, from The Children’s Trust website.

Circus delights dazzled a host of celebrity guests and charity supporters on Monday evening (6 November) at an event in aid of The Children’s Trust and SkillForce.

The event, which was also attended by SkillForce’s Royal Patron, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, was hosted by comedian and children’s author David Walliams. Guests were also wowed by daring circus acts, as well as performances by the first lady of musical theatre Elaine Paige, and magician and Britain’s Got Talent winner, Lance Corporal Richard Jones.

The night marked the beginning of an innovative new partnership between the charities, enabling children with severe disabilities the opportunity to access The Prince William Award Programme delivered by SkillForce.

Celebrity guests included Joely Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Nick Mason. Also in attendance were SkillForce Ambassadors Kate Adie and Steph McGovern, and Ambassadors of The Children’s Trust, Elaine Paige, Sophia Warner and Phil Tufnell.

Dalton Leong, Chief Executive of The Children’s Trust said: “We are thrilled to be working with SkillForce and look forward to introducing The Prince William Award to The Children’s Trust. We are very grateful to the Head family, long term supporters of both The Children’s Trust and SkillForce, for organising this magnificent event and to everyone who supported it. It will make a significant difference to the lives of the children and young people our organisations support.”

The event raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for SkillForce, a character education charity, and The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

Ben Slade, CEO of SkillForce, said: “It was a fantastic evening, and we are honoured that His Royal Highness was able to be with us.
“I am delighted that our two charities could come together, not just for this very special night, but to develop a longer term partnership to give disabled children the opportunity to be part of the transformational Prince William Award.”
